Dr. Jordon Post, MD, MPH
Dr. Post came to medicine by a longer route, and it shaped the physician he became. For six years before medical school, he worked as an ABA therapist with people on the autism spectrum. That close, day-to-day work taught him that meaningful change does not happen only during appointments; it takes hold in the hours, routines, relationships, and circumstances surrounding a person. At thirty, already a husband and father, he returned to school for his MD so he could pair that experience with the full training of a physician.
He chose psychiatry because mental health shapes the ground the rest of a life is built on. It affects how people relate to others, pursue goals, respond to adversity, and move through ordinary days. His work therefore considers not only symptoms and diagnoses, but the history, circumstances, and goals of the person experiencing them.
Dr. Post approaches psychiatric care as both a physician and a partner. He uses diagnosis carefully and deliberately, but sees it as a place to begin and something to understand, not a label that defines a person. He explains his clinical reasoning in plain language and is candid about what appears to be helping, what is not, and what may need to change.
The aim never changes: to help each person reach the point where their own strengths can carry them forward.
