What we offer today.
A focused set of services, each one built to make a real difference.
Services offered
Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation
A 60 to 90 minute first appointment that looks beyond a diagnosis to understand your symptoms, history, priorities, and goals. Together, we develop a personalized treatment plan, which is made available through your patient portal.
Education
At Post Psychiatry, we believe one of the most important parts of recovery is understanding what may be contributing to your symptoms, from psychological, biological, and integrative perspectives. Dr. Post explains not only what is being recommended, but why, giving you the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about the care that best fits you. These decisions are made together, not simply handed down.
Integrative psychiatry
Integrative care means looking at the whole picture, not just the symptom that brought you in. Sleep, stress, relationships, personal history, physical health, nutrition, and individual biology can all influence how you feel. When there is reason to suspect that hormonal, nutritional, metabolic, or other biological factors may be contributing, standard or specialized laboratory testing may help clarify the picture and guide treatment. Testing is recommended when it is purposeful and connected to a clear clinical question.
Collaborative care
Nothing here is decided for you. Dr. Post brings the clinical training and the reasoning behind every option on the table. You bring what you know about your own life, priorities, and what feels realistic for you. Together, you develop a plan that is both clinically sound and workable.
Therapy, with or without medication
Fifty-minute therapy sessions are available independently or alongside medication management. Medication is never required to participate in therapy.
Medication management
Medication can sometimes make recovery or the therapeutic process more accessible. When it is appropriate, Dr. Post explains the potential benefits, risks, side effects, and alternatives so you can make an informed decision together. In selected cases, standard or specialized labs and genetic testing may provide additional context.
Ongoing psychiatric care
Starting a medication or making a change usually means meeting every two to four weeks at first, so Dr. Post can assess how you are responding and make adjustments if needed. Once things are steady, visits typically stretch to every one to three months. Those are starting points rather than rules. How often you come in is part of the conversation.
Collaboration with your wider care team
If you are already working with a therapist, primary care clinician, or another healthcare professional, Dr. Post can coordinate with them when appropriate. With your permission, relevant information can be shared so that decisions remain aligned and the broader picture stays in view.
After-hours access
Existing patients may contact Dr. Post after hours for brief, time-sensitive questions when needed. Short calls are generally provided at no additional charge when appropriate. After-hours access does not replace emergency or crisis services.

Why Post Psychiatry is private pay.
Post Psychiatry is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. This model allows Dr. Post to maintain a smaller patient panel, offer longer appointments, and shape the frequency and focus of care around each patient's clinical needs and priorities. It also provides the flexibility to integrate medication management, therapy, education, and care coordination without structuring visits around an insurer's reimbursement requirements.
We recognize that private-pay care is a meaningful financial commitment. Superbills are available through the patient portal for submission to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, and reimbursement is not guaranteed. Before your first appointment, consider asking your insurer about your out-of-network mental-health benefits, deductible, and how reimbursement is calculated.
Currently, we are not accepting Medicare or Medicaid.

Good Faith EstimateWe grow on purpose.
Psychiatry is changing quickly, and we believe thoughtful care should evolve with it. But new does not automatically mean better, and popularity is not evidence. We adopt new tools and treatments only when their evidence, safety, clinical value, and our ability to provide them responsibly support doing so.
Current care may include selected genetic, genomic, and specialized laboratory testing when it can add meaningful context to a clinical question. Psychedelic-assisted therapies are planned for the future and will be introduced only when they can be provided responsibly and within appropriate clinical and legal standards. Other promising approaches will be evaluated by the same standard, not adopted simply because they are emerging.
